Rascal’s Cafe
About This Spot
Stepping into Rascal’s Cafe, nestled just off the quiet stretch of Uttoxeter Road in Foston, you’re greeted by a warm, unhurried energy that immediately invites you to settle in and unwind. The air hums softly with the comfort of familiar morning rituals—clinking cups, gentle chatter, the hiss of steaming milk—and a steady, welcoming rhythm that suits early risers and lingering weekend guests alike.
This spot feels like a refuge for locals and travelers who appreciate a place where time slows just enough to savour the simple joy of a well-made breakfast and a good conversation. Whether you find a seat by the window watching the world go by or step outside to the cosy outdoor area where you can soak up fresh air, there’s an easy-going vibe here that makes the day feel a little brighter.
The menu mirrors this inviting spirit, offering hearty, thoughtfully prepared breakfasts that feel generous without fuss. It’s the kind of place where you might find yourself indulging in a full English breakfast carefully tailored to your taste, or trying something with a little more local flair—simple, honest dishes that pair perfectly with a robust latte or a steaming mug of tea. The portions are ample without drawing attention to themselves, letting the comfort and sincerity of the food take centre stage.
Rascal’s isn’t just about the food, though—it’s a gathering spot for all kinds of visitors. From early-morning cyclists dropping in for a quick bacon sandwich to dog owners who appreciate its relaxed, inclusive atmosphere, the café effortlessly balances being both a neighborhood fixture and a friendly haven for newcomers. The staff’s easy warmth and genuine attentiveness help craft a feeling of belonging, even amid a busy morning rush.
There’s a tangible sense of community here that extends beyond the meals: a place where friendly familiarity and quiet smiles meet a shared appreciation for simple pleasures. It’s a spot where breakfast isn’t just a meal but a small, meaningful pause—whether you’re fueling up for the day ahead or lingering over a second cup before stepping back into the world.

Great welcome and food at Rascal's café. Breakfasts made to choice and brought to table. Lovely outdoor seating area or inside if raining. Cyclists welcome.

Lovely place open very early - I went with my friend and we had a full English. Portions were large for the price and staff were friendly. I would definitely come here again!

This is my go to cafe for a good latte and bacon sandwich, great location and really nice seating area outside. Staff are all nice, but one old lady with curly hair always seems a little angry, like shes 1 bacon sandwich order away from wrapping her apron around my neck, dont take it to heart though shes probably pretty chill usually

Actually the best breakfast food I've ever had. Me and the lads have always collected food from here ever since we discovered it and I doubt we'll go anywhere else! The food quality is NOT your basic chefs larder either, it's a little more premium and makes all the difference.

Food was excellent. Mum had the Eaton Mess first class. The lady serving kept everywhere very clean, and she was very polite and friendly. So nice to see it open again will be visiting regular, just a nice place to go.... But yes I highly recommend Rascals... love the name.
